Oct 19, 2007 (newstodate): Inadequate navaids infrastructure at Romania's Tirgu Mures Airport has caused the Hungarian lcc Wizz Air to move its operations to Cluj Airport instead.
Due to more advanced navaids equipment, Cluj Airport will secure better operational conditions in adverse weather conditions in the Transylvania region.
Wizz Air will thus move all current flights to Budapest, Rome, Barcelona and London from Tirgu Mures to Cluj from November 13, 2007, and the planned new route from Tirgu Mures to Dortmund from February 28, 2008, will also be launched from Cluj Airport.
Wizz Air launched its Romanian services at Tirgu Mures Airport in July, 2006.
