Oct 16, 2007 (newstodate): Kamil Slavik, formerly CSA Cargo managing director, has been appointed to head the Air Cargo Terminal at Prague Ruzyne Airport.
The cargo terminal, built and owned by CSA Cargo and opened on January 15, 2004, was sold to the Czech company Central European Handling in July 2007 after a tender aiming at divesting the carrier of non-core business and freeing capital to relieve itself of debts.
-Our main priority is to provide cargo handling services on the highest European standard. We would like to attract new clients to Prague, and we want to increase the effectiveness of our cargo terminal. We also have ambitions to expand into Central and Eastern Europe, says Mr Slavik.
With an initial capacity at 60,000 tonnes, the terminal's annual cargo handling capacity can be increased up to 100,000 tonnes when fully expanded through later phases.
