Uppsala Airport, currently a Swedish airforce base, will be decommisioned and turned over to Upsala Air AB that intends to seek low-cost operators to start flights.
Uppsala Air took part in the recent Routes conference in Stockholm and reports interest in its facilities from several airlines.
The company expects to break news of the arrival of "a major European low cost operator" before the end of this year.
