Oct 11, 2007 (newstodate): Plans for a new Boeing and Airbus aircraft repair and maintenance plant in Belarus are maturing.
Yet-unnamed Western and Russian aerospace companies are claimed to be in talks with the Belarus ministry of transport and communications that notes great interest in the project.
If realised, the project will require the construction of a new maintenance center at Minsk-2 Airport, and the demolition of the existing maintenance facility.
The ministry is preparing to publish a business plan for the projected center by mid-October, and among potential investors are Russian and UAE institutions.
