Oct 12, 2007 (newstodate): Moscow's Vnukovo Airport is currently working on a wide range of construction projects.
Among these is a new 250,000 sq m passenger terminal to be opened in November 2008 and featuring 26 boarding gates.
Also in 2008, Vnukovo will start operations of a new 57,000 sq m cargo and mail terminal with a ultimate capacity of handling 150,000 tonnes per year.
Other projects include a complete redevelopment of the airport's airfield infrastructure, including the extension by 800 m of one of the airport's two runways.
The airport will have some 6.4 mio passengers in 2007, and generated about 30,000 tonnes of air cargo in 2006.
