Oct 30, 2007 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo has started freighter flights from its new hub in Leipzig from October 30.
The company has announced that is to build a new logistics centre at Leipzig/Halle Airport by spring 2009 after investments of about 25 million euro.
As of spring 2009, Leipzig/Halle Airport will become the home airport of the new joint freight airline of DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo.
With eleven Boeing 777-200 LRF freighters, the new airline will mainly serve destinations in Asia, but also in the USA.
