Oct 10, 2007 (newstodate): Lufthansa has plans to revive its flights from Frankfurt to Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The service was discontinued in 2001, but plans for a re-opening of the route were aired at a recent Lufthansa Cargo press conference in Kazakhstan in September.
Lufthansa Cargo currently operates two weekly freighter flights from Frankfurt via Tashkent to the Far East.
The company earlier used Tashkent as a main re-fuelling and technical hub on its Europe-Asia flights, but moved the bulk of its operations to Kazakhstan instead.
Uzbekistan's air cargo volumes are almost exclusively imports.
