Oct 26, 2007 (newstodate): LOT Polish Airlines has decided on a new strategy for the years 2008-2012, building on seven pillars.
The first pillar is simplification of the fleet based on four zones: long distance, short-distance, local, and domestic. Each zone will have a dedicated fleet and one model within each type of aircraft.
Second comes an effective network of connections from crucial Polish airports to establish a transit hub in Warsaw and increase direct connections from all local airports.
Third is a significant increase in the quality of customer service to introduce modern aircraft, shorten the time of ground service, reduce delays and cancellations, and shorten the transfer time.
Fourth is reduction of operation costs, including cheaper systems of distribution increasing the sale through the Internet up to 40 percent in 2012 will enable a reduction of distribution costs by 30 percent.
Fifth is a modern system of tariffs.
Sixth is a customer-oriented corporate culture.
Seventh pillar is maintaining two brands LOT as the main pillar of operation and the primary source of profit, and Centralwings as a cheap air transport and an alternative for low-cost competition.
