Oct 9, 2007 (newstodate): Icelandair Cargo has decided to postpone the launch of its weekly freighter service to Stockholm Arlanda, planned for October 10, 2007.
The carrier will instead start the operation at Norrkoping Airport where Icelandair Cargo has been operating import flights on an ad-hoc basis since March this year.
-We were told by Stockholm Arlanda that they would be ready in time to handle our import shipments of Icelandic horses, but eventually it has turned out not to be the case. We therefore had to find another solution, says Robert Tomasson, Icelandair Cargo.
-The next six or seven flights will therefore be destined for Norrkoping, pending a solution to the outstanding problems of Arlanda. After that a decision will be made whether to stay at Norrkoping or move to Stockholm.
