Oct 31, 2007 (newstodate): The latest cargo statistics from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport reflects what seems to be a universal trend in Scandinavia: imports are declining, exports are rising.
In September, the airport generated a total of 4.737 tonnes of cargo, down eight percent due to a decline by 19 percent in import, 2,385 tonnes, and despite a growth by six percent in exports, 2,352 tonnes.
During the three quarters of 2007, the airport handled 46,422 tonnes of cargo, up 11 percent, y-o-y.
Imports grew modestly by two percent to 24,379 tonnes, while exports increased 23 percent, to 22,043 tonnes.
