Oct 9, 2007 (newstodate): For September, Finnair Cargo reports an increase by 6.5 percent in total cargo volumes, totaling 9,367 tonnes.
As usual, the increase was driven by the carrier's Asian volumes that grew 23.3 percent to 5,820 tonnes.
Excepting domestic cargo, all other segments were positive, including North Atlantic cargo, up 2.7 percent, and European cargo, up 8.3 percent.
For the period January-September, volumes were 71,125 tonnes, up 2.4 percent, including an 18.9 percent growth in the Asian traffic, to 41,696 tonnes.
Volumes on Finnair Cargo's scheduled charter operations were down 66.5 percent to 336 tonnes in September, and down 36 percent to 4,909 tonnes in January-September.
