Oct 30, 2007 (newstodate): Armenia's Gyumri Shirak International Airport will be re-opened for traffic from November 19, 2007.
The airport has been going through a major update program to renovate runway and other infrastructure.
The airport will be available as an alternate airport for airlines during diversions as Armenia's second largest international airport with an IATA classification.
In August, 2007, the Corporacion America A.A. obtained a 30-year lease contract for Armenia's Gyumri Shirak International Airport.
