Oct 16, 2007 (newstodate): airBaltic Cargo's share of the Latvian and Lithuanian air cargo market is growing.
-Overall, the total market figures for Riga and Vilnius are not too good, says Toms Andersons, airBaltic Cargo head.
-According to airport statistics in August and September, both airports show negative growth in air cargo.
-But our share of the cargo market in Vilnius has grown to 15 percent, from 10 last year, and in Riga to about 50 percent, up from last year's 35-40 percent. My expectations for 2008 are at least 20 percent growth for airBaltic Cargo at both stations.
-airBaltic is currently assessing plans for new routes and larger aircraft. If these plans materialise, our cargo growth in 2008 would even rise to 30-35 percent, says Mr Andersons.
