Oct 15, 2007 (newstodate): Taiwan and the Czech Republic have signed an air services agreement, extending fifth freedom rights for passenger and cargo services for the two parties.
Airlines on both sides can operate up to 14 passenger flights a week and unlimited cargo flights that include both destinations, says a release from the Civil Aeronautics Administration department of Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
The new agreement still need the endorsement by the Taiwanese government.
China Airlines and EVA Airways have already expressed their interest in offering passenger flights to Prague, intially on a code-share basis.
Since November 18, 2004, China Airlines operates a twice-weekly freighter service to Prague, but still has to apply separately for each fligtht under the current set-up.
