Jan 12, 2007 (newstodate): A thaw in Russian/Georgian civil aviation may now be in sight.
The Russian airlines Aeroflot and S7 Sibir have reportedly been approved to fly again into Georgian airspace, but while the technical issue has thus seemingly been solved, the actual start of commercial operations remains a theme for political discussions between the two countries.
All transportation, including commercial flights, has been abroated since October last year, and travelers are still forced to take by-roads and cumbersome alternatives to reach their destinations in the two countries.
