Jan 18, 2007 (newstodate): The Romanian carrier Tarom is in the market for the lease of up to four longhaul aircraft.
This represents a major strategic re-thinking by the airline that now operates only shorthaul aircraft after selling its two Airbus A310, stored since 2003.
The carrier now seeks a long-term lease of two to four Airbus A340-300, A330-300, Boeing 777-200, or Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
So far, now details of the planned re-launch of intercontinental destinations have been revealed.
On November 15, 2006, Tarom received its first of four Airbus A318 aircraft ordered in May, 2004, and the fleet also comprises nine Boeing 737 and seven ATR-42 aircraft.
