Jan 22, 2007 (newstodate): Gothenburg Landvetter Airport has high ambitions in its business plan for 2007-1020.
-Our goal is to become Scandinavia's largest cargo airport, measured in number of freighter frequencies, says Lena Stavmo, Gothenburg Airport head of Business development Air services, Air Cargo.
-With Cargolux operating at Gothenburg since Januar 6, 2007, we now have a total of 19 weekly scheduled freighter operations, which bring us even with the region's traditionally largest airport, Copenhagen Airport. Our strategy is to maintain this position and hopefully further bolster it with more frequencies and new airline customers, says Ms Stavmo.
On the international scene, Sweden's three leading cargo airports, all owned and operated by LFV, Stockholm Arlanda, Gothenburg Landvetter and Malmo Sturup will be marketed under a common brand, Swedish Cargo.
With new cargo terminals currently under construction, Gothenburg Landvetter considers this year's overriding object to secure unchanged customer services levels despite the inconveniences caused by the construction works, but the airport has already designated 2008 as the year of new initiatives and aggressive projects.
