Jan 9, 2007 (newstodate): Receiving its 10th Boeing 737-300 on December 31, 2006, the Russian carrier KD Avia, based at Kaliningrad, is readying to expand its route network to comprise European destinations.
The start of its new program is slated for June 15, 2007, and the carrier initially plans to operate flights to Budapest, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Milan, Munich, and Rome, with London, Barcelona and Prague further down the line.
An additional nine Boeing 737-300 aircraft are planned to be taken in during this year, all on lease arrangements.
To finance the substantial growth, the carrier plans for an IPO in 2007.
