Jan 26, 2007 (newstodate): The Hungarian carrier Malev's future may end up in the hands of the Russian bidder in the ongoing privatisation tender.
Industry sources claim that the Russian consortium Airbridge, behind which is the Russian airline KrasAir, has emerged the winner of the tender, and that final negotiations between the parties are now going on.
KrasAir also won the earlier tender in 2005, but the process was then abrogated, and a new tender was opened in 2006.
Founder memeber of the airline alliance AiRUnion, KrasAir sees huge potentials in a close cooperation with Malev by integrating the passenger flows between Europe and Russia within one stream.
