Jan 2, 2007 (newstodate): Azerbaijan and Georgia have been admitted as new candidate member states as of January 1, 2007.
The admisssion was announced on FAA's meeting on December 18 that also confirmed Serbia as new full member of the organisation.
With the addition of Azerbaijan and Georgia, JAA now has 42 members, 34 of which are full members and 8 candidate members.
JAA, the Joint Aviation Authorities is an associated body of the European Civil Aviation Conference, ECAC, representing the civil aviation regulatory authorities of a number of European States who have agreed to co-operate in developing and implementing common safety regulatory standards and procedures.
