Jan 29, 2007 (newstodate): The Russian consortium AirBridg, one of the shareholders of which is KrasAirs Director-General, now claims to have finally been designated the winner of Hungarian carrier Malev.
AirBridge thus beat the second remaining contender, Lithuanian Airlines and won Malev in its second attempt.
Negotiations in Hungary will now take place to solve all issues involved in the privatisation of Malev, and with the integration of Malev into KrasAir's AiRUnion airline allicance, the carrier will be assigned with a pivotal role of connecting the traffic flows between AiRUnion's Russian network and Malev's European traffic system.
KrasAir also expect a number of new routes to be operated by Malev between Budapest and Russian destinations served by AiRUnion member airlines.
