Jan 19, 2007 (newstodate): Polish airline LOT is planning to return to China from later this year.
LOT will operate the route from Warsaw to Beijing three times weekly with Boeing 767 aircraft that will be replaced with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
In September, 2005, LOT placed an order with Boeing for delivery of seven Boeing 787 aircraft that will delivered from autumn 2008 and introduced on the China route from October, 2008.
LOT also holds options for a further two aircraft, plus purchase orders for additionally five aircraft in a deal valued at approximately USD910 million at list prices.
Boeing landed the contract after a prolonged battle with the competing Airbus A350 alternative.
