Jan 5, 2007 (newstodate): Kazakh airline Air Astana has now received the first of six new Airbus A320 aircraft to be delivered during the first half of this year.
The carrier already operates four A320 aircraft, and like these all new deliveries will be on lease contracts.
Besides this batch of six A320, Air Astana will also receive two Boeing 767-300 aircraft, one more A320, and two A321 aircraft during 2007.
Kazakhstan's aircraft acquisition plan envisages the total number of new western-built aircraft to reach 34 by 2015, and the currently operated Boeing 737-700 and -800 will be replaced by Airbus A320-family aircraft from 2007 already.
