Jan 30, 2007 (newstodate): Georgia is keen to see the reopening of air transportation with Russia.
As an early sign of a thaw in relations abrogated since last autumn, 2007, Russia's ambassador to Georgia has now returned to Tblisi and is known to have started talks on normalisation in air traffic.
Barred from direct flights between the two countries, Georgia has been forced to use a range of indirect and more costly transfer routes to lift passengers and goods.
