Jan 2, 2007 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport ended 2006 with an over-all growth by 7.5 percent in air cargo volumes.
In total the airport generated 55,986 tonnes of air cargo, which is an all-time high volume.
The growth was spurred especially by an increase by 8.6 percent in export volumes, 28,869 tonnes, while imports grew 6.3 percent to 27,117 tonnes.
In December, export volumes were up by 18.7 percent to 2,480 tonnes, while imports grew only 0.1 percent, leading to a total of 4.437 tonnes, up 9.7 percent on the preceding year.
