Jan 5, 2007 (newstodate): A modest, albeit fresh start to 2007: Airbus has sold its first two A350XWB aircraft, confirming the re-launch of its earlier, less succesful A350 aircraft.
The launch customer is Pegasus Aviation Finance Company, and the end-user has not yet been announced.
Entry into service of the first A350XWB is planned for 2013 against the earlier EIS by 2010.
Boeing's competing alternative, the 787 Dreamliner, is planned to enter commercial service by 2008 and has now fetched a total of 471 orders and commitments against 202 for Airbus' earlier version, the A350.
