Jan 16, 2007 (newstodate): Starting on March 26, Latvian airline airBaltic is to open direct flights to the Belarusian city of Gomel.
This will be the airlines first new route in 2007 and the second direct flight to Belarus, with a route between Riga and Minsk operated since August 1, 2003.
The new route will be operated three times weekly with Fokker 50 aircraft.
Gomel is the first new destination on airBaltic's route map in 2007, but the carrier intends to open "more than" 10 new routes this year.
