Sep 14, 2006 (newstodate): Following on the MoU between the Latvian airline Concors and SR Technics signed earlier this year, the two parties are now only weeks away from signing the eventual joint venture agreement to jointly set up a new MRO facility at Riga International Airport.
A new hangar has been built to accommodate three narrow-body aircraft, Boeing 737 or Airbus 320 family, also comprising a Repair Back Shop. Also included in the current building program is a separate two-storey warehouse for aircraft spare parts.
-We are on track to commence our activities early next year. It is a little bit premature to reveal our launch customer at the moment but certainly it will be one from CIS or Eastern European countries, says Sergey Ratnikov, Concors Ltd. president.
