Sep 7, 2006 (newstodate): Jade Cargo has rounded off its Nordic representation by appointing Air Cargo Services its GSA in the Norwegian market from September 1.
-Building our business concept on representing only maindeck carriers, we are happy to include Jade Cargo in our portfolie, also comprising Polar Air Cargo and AirBridge Cargo, says Gudmund Flaat, Air Cargo Services manager.
-We are now in the process of streamlining the future processes with Jade Cargo, including booking procedures, so we have not yet approached the market with our new client, he says.
-Generally speaking, 90 percent of the Norwegian exports of fresh salmon goes via Amsterdam that is also Jade Cargo's European hub, so the new carrier will be well placed to handle our exports also.
-The export volume of Norwegian fresh salmon to the Far East is, however, stagnating, and the market abounds with excess uplift capacity. This invariably leads to declining rates, and I foresee a major crisis that will leave only the strongest contenders in the market place.
-I am confident that Jade Cargo has the visions, the financial strength and the power to develop as a significant player in the market, also offering, in the future, more destinations beyond today's Shenzhen and Korea, and this will add further momentum, says Mr Flaat.
