Sep 7, 2006 (newstodate): Riga-based Latvian forwarding company Spedair expects to offically open its new cargo terminal on October 12.
The project was originally planned to be completed this summer, but has been slightly delayed during the process.
Spedair has rented 3,816 sq m from Riga Airport, and the multi-functional terminal is situated next to Baltic Cargo Centre handling SAS Cargo, airBaltic Cargo, and Lufthansa Cargo.
The new facility including office space will provide facilities for handling of dangerous goods, live animals, radioactives, explosives, and be quipped with refrigerators and freezers for perishables handling and storing and temperature-controlled shipments.
