Sep 6, 2006 (newstodate): As part of its Nordic coverage, Jade Cargo has named ATS its cargo GSA in the Swedish market, with effect from September 1.
-We are of course happy to include Jade Cargo among our principals and will now attentively watch the carrier's plans for the future, says Goran Wenker, ATS director sales.
-From the start Jade Cargo's route network seems a bit limited, but the carrier has big plans and will successively take in a fleet of six Boeing 747-400 freighters opening new potentials.
-What would be especially attractive is a flexible approach to destinations and routes, allowing us to meet the increasing market demands for project cargo operations.
-The Swedish market may now be satuated with capacity to the Far East, and most cargo is transported under long-term contracts with carriers and forwarders using dedicated hubs, leaving little room for newcomers and resulting in continuously falling rates and decreasing yields.
-Scandinavia is rich in companies with large ad-hoc projects requiring uplift capacity. If Jade Cargo would focus on this business I foresee a bright future, but it is still too early to predict which direction developments will take, says Mr Wenker.
