Sep 8, 2006 (newstodate): In August, Finnair upped its total cargo volumes by 4.4 percent to 8,078 tonnes.
Reflecting the strategic orientation of the carrier's route network, Asian cargo maintained its grip on the development, increasing by 33.7 percent to 4,483 tonnes, constituting 55.5 percent of the total volume in August.
North Atlantic volumes were 781 tonnes, up 3.8 percent y-o-y, while European cargo continued its downward trend by droppen 13.1 percent to 1,706 tonnes.
In August, Finnair's over-all cargo load factor dropped 1.4 percentage point to 62.3 percent.
On the Asian routes, however, the load factor was 70.5, and on the US routes as high as 77.1 percent
