Sep 14, 2006 (newstodate): The Aeroflot board meeting, slated for today, to decide on the acquisition of 22 longhaul aircraft has reportedly been postponed till Friday.
The delay is rumoured to be the result of a direct involvement by the Russian government in the company's decision that comes at the very expiry date of Boeing's sales offer including a significant discount on the Boeing 787 aircraft.
Lately it has transpired that Aeroflot is planning for the acquisition of a further batch of 22 longhaul aircraft to follow on its first order that is now widely expected to favour Boeing's Dreamliner that will become available for delivery from 2010 already, while the Airbus A350 will enter the market only two years later.
