Aug 2, 2006 (newstodate): Prague Ruzyne International Airport is planning to introduce precision landings with practically zero visibility after implementation of a comprehensive delivery of air navigation systems to be delivered by Thales.
Within the framework of a new contract, Thales will supply a complete set of navigation aids, training services and test equipment.
The systems will be installed at Prague Ruzyne International and other airports in the Czech Republic.
The program will start immediately, with the completion of all systems forecast by 2007.
The contract comprises the supply of an ILS 420Instrument Landing System, two Doppler-VOR VHF Omnidirectional Radio Range systems for en-route navigation, three VOR VHF Omnidirectional Radio Range systems for both en-route and approach procedures, ten Distance Measuring Equipments for both landing procedures and en-route navigation, and nine Non Directional Beacons including antenna systems.
