Aug 9, 2006 (newstodate): LFV, the Swedish luftfartsverket is upbeat on the future of air cargo.
-Korean Air's decision soon to launch two weekly freighter flights to Stockholm Arlanda Airport, and Cathay Pacific's launch of a new freighter service from Stockholm Arlanda via Dubai to Hong Kong from September 17 bode well for a process where Stockholm Arlanda will play an increasingly important role in the Scandinavian air cargo market, says Bjorn Ragnebrink, LFV director air cargo development.
-I even anticipate one or even two more newscomers at Stockholm Arlanda. Combined with Emirates' and Lufthansa Cargo's freighter operations at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, Sweden will attain a firm foundation for Swedish air cargo.
-I also expect Malmo Sturup in southern Sweden to strengthen its role in air cargo as well, especially with the construction of a new cargo terminal at the airport, says Mr Ragnebrink.
