Aug 10, 2006 (newstodate): Ryanair's contract with its new destination in Denmark, Billund Airport, is based strictly on general market conditions with no special incitements.
-We have steadfastedly maintained the position that all operators must play by the same rules, and we strongly oppose any special favours offered to some, but not all airline customers, says Jorgen K Jorgensen, Billund Airport director.
-Of course handling of an aircraft with 168 seats differs from handling of an aircraft with only, say, 18 seats, so any details in handling contracts cannot be identical. Still the principle remains that the contract negoatiated with Ryanair does not comprise any benefits that would not be available to any other comparable operator like e.g. Sterling, he says.
