Aug 22, 2006 (newstodate): Russia's Federal Air Traffic Control Service, Rosaeronavigatsiya, is now preparing to take harsh action against debtor airlines.
The service provider has informed 26 Russian airlines that it will impose restrictions on their use of airspace if they do not pay overdue debt for ATC services provided at Moscow's airports before September 1.
Most of the debt is accumulated by airline members of the allian AiRUnion, with KrasAir, Domodedovo Airlines, Omskavia, and Samara Airlines taking the lead.
