Aug 7, 2006 (newstodate): Kurumoch International Airport in the Volga Region is eyeing an opportunity for a key role in Russia's business aviation.
On August 1 representatives from Russian companies and investors met with the Swiss company Air Alfa to investigate the business case for a Pilatus technical center at the airport.
Taking part in the meeting was the Russian nationwide air taxi company Dexter that plans for a fleet of 45 aircraft by the end of 2008, eventually expanding to up to 200 aircraft.
Dexter will use IFC financing to acquire and operate a fleet of new Russian-made six-seat M101T aircraft, but the Swiss aircraft manufacturer may see a business opportunity for its PC-12 in both passenger and cargo configurations.
