Aug 31, 2006 (newstodate): Aeroflot and Ural Airlines are in talks over a possible cooperation or even alliance.
Aeroflot has earlier sedignated the Ural region to of special strategic interest and has recently opened its own office at Ekaterinburg, the hub of Ural Airlines.
Aeroflot will support the introduction of A320 and ATR-42 into the aircraft fleet of Ural Airlines.
Ural Airlines has leased three A320 aircraft that are expected to be delivered later this year, and also signed orders in 2005 for delivery of two IL-86 and one TU-134 aircraft.
Earlier this year, Ural Airlines signed an agreement with Perm Air Lines to jointly develop their route networks and solve Perm Air Lines' problem with an ageing fleet of Soviet-built aircraft that will be phased out with two or three years.
