Aug 22, 2006 (newstodate): Maersk has sold it six remaining Boeing 737 to the UK aircraft lease and financing company Aircastle.
The Maersk-owned aircraft were part of the Maersk Air, sold to the Icelandic-owned Sterling that now operates the aircraft on a lease arrangement.
Through the transaction, Sterling continues to operate the aircraft while the ownership and the lease contract has been changed.
