Aug 30, 2006 (newstodate): Trucking from the Baltic states over the borders to Russia and Ukraine is becoming increasingly difficult due to red tape formalities.
-Queues of trucks are now extending to over seven kilometres, and it takes some 10 days now to clear a truck for border crossing into Russia and Ukraine, says Toomas Orukivi, Estonian Air Cargo manager.
-At the same time, there is limited aircraft uplift capacity on aircraft between the Baltic countries and Russia, Ukraine, and cargo handling and documentation costs are prohibitive at the airport of Moscow and Kiev. In short, the situation is very demanding.
