Aug 15, 2006 (newstodate): The effects from the fire in May at Istanbul Ataturk Airport's cargo terminals are still devastating to the cargo community.
-Currently nothing is moving towards a solution for the cargo terminals at Istanbul Ataturk Airport as legal procedures are still not solved, says Agon Alo, Reibel Turkey, at Istanbul.
-We recently had an inquiry for a charter flight out of Istanbul Ataturk Airport on an AN-26 freighter, but we were refused by the Cvil Aviation Authorities of Turkey with the explanation that the airport's warehouses still cannot handle large amounts of cargo, he says.
Reibel then had to truck the cargo to another airport that primarily serves low-cost traffic.
