Aug 17, 2006 (newstodate): Loftleidir Icelandic, the charter and ACMI-marketing subsidiary of the Icelandair Group, has now taken over the remaining shares in the Latvian charter operator Latcharter Airlines.
In early July the carrier announced the acquisition of 55 percent of the shares in LatCharter, and is thus now fully in control of the company.
The acquisition is part of Loftleidir Icelandic's strategy to strengthen its position in the Baltic and CIS region as well as adding the Airbus family into its ACMI product line.
Set up in 1992, LatCharter operates two Airbus A320 aircraft.
