Aug 21, 2006 (newstodate): The Icelandic Avion Group has made new inroads into international aviation.
The company's recently acquired Star Airlines of France and Star Europe of Germany will provide up to four Airbus A320 aircraft to the Australian carrier Advent Air's subsidiary, Skywest Ltd.
Skywest's season peaks during the winter while Star Airlines has its main peak during the summer, allowing for optimisation of the use of the aircraft fleet.
Delivery of the first A320 to Advent will take place by November 2006, with the remaining aircraft to follow over a period of two years from November 2007. The first aircraft will remain in Australia, while the others will operate as driven by demand.
