Aug 30, 2006 (newstodate): The latest statistics from IATA show an increase by 6.4 in passenger volumes and 5.3 percent in cargo volumes, y-o-y, for the period January-July.
For the first time in two years, Middle Eastern carriers were not the leaders in cargo or passenger growth, posting July growth of 12.9 percent for passenger and 15.2 percent for cargo volumes.
This was behind African carrier growth of 13.1 percent for passenger and 20.6 percent for cargo.
