Aug 9, 2006 (newstodate): GF-X is seeing its penetration of markets including China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Pakistan and Philippines reaching as high as over 60 percent.
The penetration rate of the markets in Europe/Middle East, the Americas, and Asia Pacific is now in the range of 25-50 percent.
-Penetration in these terms refers to the number of bookings made via GF-X by GF-X forwarders as a percentage of the total bookings made by GF-X forwarders with GF-X airline members in June 2006, says Demetrios Zoppos, GF-X managing director.
-In terms of our activities and performance in central and eastern Europe, GF-X booking activity is already taking place in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania, with a penetration rate of 35 percent in the Czech Republic, and 28 percent in Poland.
-However, given the current size, fragmentation and infrastructure challenges which face central and eastern Europe, it is not currently one of our primary market focuses.
-We do however see it as an important emerging market and expect to further consolidate on our activities there in the future, says Mr Zoppos.
