Aug 23, 2006 (newstodate): The new Tbilisi International Airport, Georgia, will be officially opened on November 23, with operations starting from January.
To be operated by the turkish TAV Urban Georgia, Tbilisi International Airport, under construction next to the current international airport, will have a renovated runway, 24 new check-in counters, three new boarding bridges and modern baggage screening systems.
TAB Urban Georgia also holds a contract to renovate and manage Batumi Airport, slated to open for operations from January 2007 as well.
