Aug 29, 2006 (newstodate): Plans for new cargo facilities at Gdansk Walesa Airport have been downgraded.
-We have just revised our investment plans a few week ago, and plans for a new cargo terminal have been pushed back for another six or seven years, says Adam Skoniedczy, Gdansk Walesa Airport Economic Analyses and Marketing Department.
In 2005, the airport saw its cargo volumes up by 11.5 percent, to 3,458 tonnes.
DHL, that operates an AN-26 freighter between Copenhagen and Gdansk, was the airport's single largest cargo carrier that generated a total of 488 tonnes on this route.
SAS lifted another 111 tonnes to and from Copenhagen, while Lufthansa generated 148 tonnes of cargo on its route to Frankfurt.
