Aug 3, 2006 (newstodate): Finnair today becomes the second airline in Europe to give Embraer 170 type aircraft flight simulator training for pilots at its premises at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
The new 10 mio euro simulator will benefit the airline by reducing polot training costs, and half of its capacity will be sold by Finnair to external customer airlines.
Finnair will receive its eighth Embraer 170 over the weekend. By autumn 2007 the airline will have a total of 16 Embraer family aircraft which will be used on both domestic and European routes.
Of the aircraft, ten are 76-seat Embraer 170s and six are larger 190s. Finnair also has four additional options for Embraer aircraft.
