Aug 18, 2006 (newstodate): Taking effect from September 15, Finnair Cargo has decided to reorganise its sales setup in the nordic region.
A single new sales area, the Nordic, will take over responsibility for cargo sales in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, replacing the current country-based organisations.
Nominated agents and customers will be served by a dedicated sales person through the new sales area, and the contact persons with the local customer base will remain unchanged, the company says.
Also part of the new strategy is the decision to move the cargo sales organisations in Russia and the Baltic countries into the European sales units from the same date.
Finnair Cargo cites the prevailing globalisation and consolidation tendency in the air cargo industry as the main driver of the new organisational move.
According to Finnair Cargo, the reorganisation will not affect the company's current GSA contracts in the markets.
